Its been 17 years and they're still in great shape.
My sister got the Violet doll, and I got the same type, however, mine had red buns, and a different skirt pattern and color.
The Violet dolls are still available, but where have the red headed versions gone?!

There was a time when our daughter was smaller than her original Violet, 12 years ago. She’s now on her 2nd Violet and you can see from the photo that with custom pajamas, we did everything possible to preserve her most treasured friend. We’re overjoyed that you continue to sell the original Violet!

We love our doll! It is has the perfect amount of stuffing to make sure it keeps its shape but is still soft enough to snuggle and put in strollers. And the customer service was phenomenal when we experienced an error. They were quick to respond and generous with their action!
